Competiton between Professional athletes and entertainers

Entertainers get high remuneration. So, they earn high when compared to athletes. Since, they have popularity TV shows hire them for anchoring their programs and attract audience. They have a contract period and will gain money on the number of hours they work or the number of days they spent on it. This is apart from their regular profession. Meanwhile, they have other projects like movies, advertisements and they are brand-ambassadors for some consumer goods. So, they have multiple source of income and they use their stardom for attracting audience.

But, the same is not the case with professional athletes. They come into the picture only when they win awards in either Olympics or National games. They will get high packages only when they win important and international matches. When the population of India is kept in mind, there are a very few professional athletes. They get packages from advertisements and from companies for which they work as brand ambassadors. But, they have to spend a lot on their physical training and sports kits. Government won’t recognize them until they win a match. One doesn't get to that position without years and years of effort. And most at best still don't make all that much money.
